Black Market ("the Bot", "we", "us") is a free Discord RPG bot. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and how we protect it.
1. Data We Collect
Automatically Collected
- Discord User ID — Your unique numeric identifier (not your password or email)
- Discord Username — Your display name, used as your in-game name
- Server (Guild) ID — To identify which server commands are used in
- Command Usage — Which commands you use and when (for analytics and rate limiting)
Game Data (Created Through Gameplay)
- Player stats (level, cash, XP, health, combat stats)
- Inventory (items, equipment, crafted goods)
- Guild membership and territory ownership
- Fight history, crime records, achievement progress
- NPC relationships and quest progress
- Transaction history (purchases, trades, gambling results)
2. Data We Do NOT Collect

- ❌ Your Discord password or token
- ❌ Your message content (we only process slash commands)
- ❌ Your IP address
- ❌ Your real name or location
- ❌ Any data from users who haven't used

3. How We Use Your Data
All collected data is used exclusively for:
- Operating the game (tracking your progress, inventory, stats)
- Displaying leaderboards and public player profiles
- Preventing abuse (rate limiting, anti-exploit detection)
- Improving the bot (aggregate analytics — never individual tracking)
4. Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored in a PostgreSQL database hosted on a secure server. We implement:
- Encrypted connections (SSL/TLS) to the database
- No third-party access — your data is never sold or shared
- Regular database backups
- Access restricted to the bot developer only
5. Data Retention
Your game data is retained as long as your account is active. If you wish to delete your data:
- Contact the developer through Ko-fi or Discord
- We will permanently delete all your player data within 30 days
- Aggregate/anonymized statistics may be retained
6. Third-Party Services
The Bot interacts with:
- Discord API — To receive commands and send responses (Discord's Privacy Policy)
- Ko-fi — For optional donations (no user data is shared with Ko-fi)
We do not use any advertising networks, tracking pixels, or analytics services.
7. Children's Privacy
The Bot is available through Discord, which requires users to be at least 13 years old. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
8. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access — Request a copy of your stored data
- Delete — Request permanent deletion of your data
- Rectify — Request correction of inaccurate data
- Withdraw — Stop using the bot at any time; no data is collected after
